Match manipulation in its purest!! Link to Forum post: Forum post was removed because idiot witch hunted himself.
Blanked out screenshot of his comment: ArenaNet just now removed my forum post, without an actual moderator or staff member infractions me they chose to do so via the automated account. As I clicked page 2 to read the juicy comments it was removed. Also I emailed forum support demanding an explanation as to why my thread was deleted when said user exposed himself in comments, and why his comment wasn't just deleted.
If you guys want the unblanked pictures, I cannot stop you from look at my twitter. Take a guess what the username is, I can't say it otherwise it might be witchhunting. Another edit; ArenaNet support is on the case!
Thank you for doing a great job. It's back up since names are removed. For clarification, we still consider it witch-hunting if it appears to be true. The whole point of the rule is to protect people from situations where a situation that appears to be factually true invokes the ire of mob mentality when in fact it is not.
Regardless of how guilty or not guilty someone is, it's not our place as mods to be making value judgments as to who deserves to have that courtesy extended or not. This means you are not allowed to share names in a negative context. In a case the name is in the title the thread must be re-posted without it. I recall only 1 of those players playing in any major tournament, without much success. At this point we should become the esports in drama. I just finished reading the forum post, did he seriously point himself out as the person who did this, AFTER you removed his name for anonymity?
I, I seriously need my popcorn if that it true. I mean you'd have to be a special kind of stupid to let people know who you are after they blacked out your name even though it wasn't hard to guess.
Moobs is a special kind of stupid. He actually paid for a hat with his name printed on it. Meh, we all had joke stuff for LAN. We had team shirts with joke names on the back. I'm not trying to say he's not a rude, cocky bastard, but that particular case was just for laughs.
He's probably the saltiest player NA, coming from me. Has anyone done a social experiment on the correlation between classes and level of saltiness? This is a complete violation of the user agreement of anet. If the devs ignore this then this whole season 5 is a joke.
I thought it was pretty revealing when top streamers today couldn't catch a break in ranked despite playing really well. Toker wouldn't, he was smart enough not to even rule in chat besides asking the necro to switch at the start of the round. Toker does get hilariously salty, though. He just kicked HalfDevil and Hazard from sPvP for playing poorly in a game with his alt, causing a loss. He didn't queue with him. He's not that dumb. That is one of the few things i'd say perma ban all of his accounts regardless of who he is or how many accs he owns.
Also ban the person taking the gold at least 6 months too. Perma ban is a little to much. Just lower their rating to bronze and make so that they can never pass bronze or get any pips. Add a series of islands scattered south of the heart of the mists far enough nothing in there will load while in the main area of the heart.
Add an asura gate that teleports to the highest of those islands. From there one can reach the other ones. Those islands would feature wooden stocks, where banned characters are randomly loaded, and a interactable objects called "pile of rotting fruits and vegetables".
Players would be able to use the objects to get random rotting fruits bundles with a 'throw' skill that can be used to throw the fruits at the banned characters stuck in the stocks. Banned accounts that do not have a ban longer than a year would still be able to load their characters, but they'll appear only in the stocks until the duration of the ban expires.
A nun goes behind queen ringing bell and repeating shame x3 like that while she is literally taking the walk of shame. Well, there are Unbreakable Choir Bells so we're missing only people who have Arcane Outfits to do this shaming in a proper way. Evidently, this girl was the guild leader of a prominent guild and one of the top-rated players in the game. She ended up beating this admin's guild so badly that he got pissed, blocked her movement and skills in the middle of a PvP zone, and made it an event to kill her repeatedly, until she was delevelled into oblivion.
Also, because of her rank, there was a nice server-wise announcement every time she died. As much of a petty scumbag that admin is, that's kind of hilarious.
I would be pissed if I was the girl though. I will be pretty mad if I can only be able do to wing 3 escort for the rest of my acc's life. For PvP without thinking to much I will say that hacking of any sort is the only thing that should be punished by perma ban. Am I the only one who thinks anet did the right thing by deleting the thread? You stiring up the mob, they are geting their pitchforks and torches and want harsher punishment just because he's an esl player.
People want anet to make example of him. That's not how punishment system should work. He violates the rules he gets a ban, he violates again, he gets baned for longer time period and so on til he gets perma ban.
And so does the player who accepted the gold. You want players like this to get what they deserve? They added option for idle and match manipulation ingame. Creating discussions like this won't help anyone. Anet refuses to have discussions on many topics which is why most of the devs here only respond to fluff or PvE stuff.
Creating discussions like this is the only way players like him have received punishment in the past. It's a repetitive offense from the same user, with anet turning a blind eye. First you don't have proof that treads like this make anet take the action.
Secondly you don't have proof thet it's repetitive offense. Maybe you'll find some And lastly you don't have proof that anet turns blind eye. You are a drama queen.
If you've ever spoken to moobs, you'd be surprised he hasn't been perma banned yet. He's had six accounts banned from the forums. This isn't isolated behavior.
You're basically saying "my rule breaking post about his rule breaking should be allowed because i really want it to". Surely you must have known calling people out would get the thread deleted. Trying to shame anet for that is disingenuous at best. I think that Anet does not pay attention to the reports that players submit. Creating a fuss over an ESL player is a way to make Anet take some things a little bit more seriously than they do now. Because, let's be honest here, Anet themselves don't take PvP seriously They'll check trade logs, message logs, chat logs, movement and skill usage logs, log logs and so on.
And see what each player involved was actually doing. If they see this has happened to much, they'll create an official warning and pin it in the forums. It would've been a tough game, but the guy who threw the match for the gold wasn't the best so it was enough to change the tide in their favor.
Unfortunately this kind of thing is very common in high level PvP in every game where there is a leaderboard or some epeen at stake. In WoW, for example, many of the rank 1 PvP players over the years secured their titles through match manipulation. ArenaNet probably won't do anything about it, and as is usually the case, OP is the one being punished for alerting the community to another player's cheating ways.
Funny how they jump on that so quickly, yet won't actually ban a guy who is completely cheating his way up the leaderboard. Do you have images with the forum where the user says they did it? Like you can white out the name, just to show they were so damsn stupid to say that openly. It probably wasn't ANet that removed the thread, just the nazi forum moderators. Usually when the devs see these they lock the thread and possibly edit the original post to remove rule-breaking stuff, usually with a red post from chris cleary or one of the PvP devs explaining what's going on, or an overly long post from gaile explaining nothing.
